Pat Davitt has worked in the property industry for over 40 years setting up Davitt and Davitt Auctioneers in Castlepollard Co Westmeath in 1980.
He was appointed a member of the Auctioneers Review Group in 2004/06 set up by the then Minister for Justice to examine Auctioneering practices which led to the setting up of the Property Services Regulatory Authority. He served for 7 years as a board member of the (PRSA).
He is a past President of Mullingar Chamber of Commerce 2004-2006.
He served on the Board of The European Group of Valuers Associations (TEGOVA) from 2017 to 2020 and is presently a member of its Recognition Committee. He spearheaded the introduction of the TEGOVA ‘Blue Book’ European Valuation Standards to Ireland in 2013.
He was elected to the Board of (CEPI) the European Association for Real Estate Agents in 2017-2020.
He was appointed to the 2023/2024 Global Board of Directors of the USA National Association of Realtors (NAR) to represent Ireland Great Britian and Northern Europe.
He was appointed CEO of IPAV, the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers in 2013 and retired in 2025.
He received the 2024 Business Post Lifetime Achieve Award for his lifetime work and dedication to the property industry.
