Tom Gilligan is a Director of Services with Mayo County Council with responsibility for Housing, Roads, Architectural Services, Services Development and the Claremorris / Swinford Municipal District. Tom is the founder of Vacanthomes.ie and this year’s inaugural World Vacant Homes Day. Prior to joining Mayo County Council, Tom worked in the private and other public sector organisations and was the Head of Finance in Limerick City and County Council, following the amalgamation of both local authorities. Tom is involved in several national and regional committees and he is a Member of the Vacant to Vibrant Building Alliance (VVBA) which recently launched its recommendations to help meet the target of 300,000 new homes by 2030, supporting compact growth and vibrant urban living.
